The Council is an auxiliary and intermediary body between the Young Scientific Employees of the Institute and the Coordinator for the Young Scientists of the Institute, Prof. dr hab. Jadwiga Jaruzelska.<\/p>\n<p>Definition of the Young Scientific Employee, adopted by the Council, inspired by the European Charter for Researchers:<br \/>\n<em>A young scientist at the IHG PAS is a person conducting scientific work, whose goal is to obtain a post-doctoral degree(habilitation), regardless of the method of employment and the age criterion. The definition therefore includes PhD students and postdoctoral employees, who have chosen the path of professional development assuming obtaining a postdoctoral degree (habilitation), but have not yet achieved full academic independence.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Council adopts a policy of openness to proposals and conclusions from the Institute&#8217;s Young Scientific Employees and encourages direct contact with the Council members to present matters that require any intervention or advice from the Council.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Council of Young Researchers at IGC PAN is involved in various activities, which include<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: square;\">\n<li>Reviewing and evaluating mini-grant applications.<\/li>\n<li>Establishing the Promoter&#8217;s Code of Conduct at IGC PAN.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating and co-organizing seminars and journal clubs for the R2 group (post-PhD researchers).<\/li>\n<li>Assisting the Staff Development Committee in developing regulations for awarding doctoral degrees in modes I and II.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating meetings between the R1 group (PhD students) and the Director of IGC PAN.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Integration meetings of R1 and R2 groups<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>2024<br \/>\nThe Young Scientist Council at the Institute of Human Genetics, Polish Academy of Sciences organized a &#8220;Meet&amp;Greet: Board games edition&#8221; on the 22nd of May 2024.<br \/>\nThe evening was filled with thrilling board games, lively conversations, and delicious pizza. Many young scientists came together, connected, shared their love for science and played board games, it was fantastic! The variety of games kept everyone entertained and sparked some friendly competition and laughter. We are looking forward to more events to come.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/intranet.igcz.poznan.pl\/media\/Q3SoPYcN-Meet_and_Greet-2024.png\" alt=\"Meet_and_Greet-2024\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1536\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/intranet.igcz.poznan.pl\/media\/k8lVgxb5-R1_and_R2_meeting_video-2024.mp4\">R1 and R2 meeting video 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>2023<br \/>\nA fantastic gathering took place at the Institute of Human Genetics on 11<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0October 2023, orchestrated by the Council of Young Researchers, bringing together the R1 group of enthusiastic Ph.D. students and the R2 group of experienced postdocs. Laughter filled the air as we embarked on a quirky bingo game and shared hilarious lab mishaps. Mouthwatering delicacies added to the festive atmosphere.
