Existing clinical trials indicate a significant role of specific plant-derived substances and bacterial metabolic products, particularly short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), in the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases. However, these compounds have not been sufficiently characterized in terms of recommended doses and treatment protocols, nor have they been tested in combinations that could be administered to patients to effectively stimulate the colonization of the gut mucosa by commensal microbes. The unique character of the therapy will lie in supplementing the gut microenvironment with the dose and composition necessary for the optimal growth of probiotic bacteria.

#EUFunds #EuropeanFunds

Project title: CARDIOPRINT – Cardiac Advanced Regenerative Design Integrating Organic PRINTing

Implementation period: 01.01.2025 – 31.03.2026

EU funding: PLN 7,326,856.66

Objective: To prepare physiologically and anatomically compatible 3D cardiac tissue constructs using bioprinting for regenerative medicine purposes. The proliferation of many lymphomas depends on the expression of these oncogenes and the signaling pathways of the B-cell receptor (BCR), which is expressed from the second, functional IGH allele. Regulatory elements in the IGH gene have been studied in the development of normal B cells, but their role in cancer cells remains undefined. The project aims to identify and characterize functional elements in the IGH regulatory region and enhancer RNAs (eRNAs) necessary for the growth of B-cell lymphoma cells. Modern methods such as CRISPR/Cas9 screening, GRO-seq, and chromatin immunoprecipitation will be used. The project is carried out in collaboration with scientists from the Netherlands and the USA.

Project title: Development of an innovative therapy for gut dysbiosis — a unique combination of microbiota, its metabolites, and adaptogens.
