The Director of the Institute of Human Genetics, Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznan (IHG PAS) announces an open competition for the position of an assistant <\/strong>at the Department of Molecular Pathology of the IHG PAS<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The competition is open to persons who meet the conditions set out in the Act of 30 April 2010 on the Polish Academy of Sciences (Journal of Laws of 2016, item 572, as amended) and the Regulations for conducting competitions for scientific positions at the Institute of Human Genetics, Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznan.<\/p>\n

I. General information<\/strong><\/p>\n

  12. A concise description of the scientific research in which the candidate would participate:
    \nThe candidate’s task will be to develop human cell and tissue models using pluripotent cells. Currently, the ongoing projects focus on 2 topics: 1.development of a gametogenic cell differentiation model and the search for protein interactions involved in the process (ChIP, RNAseq), and 2.definition of heart organogenesis mechanisms using tissue engineering techniques and searching for mechanisms using mass spectrometry and transcriptome analysis. The candidate will work in a laboratory (60%), desk work – preparing publications and projects (40%).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    II. Requirements for candidates:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. PhD degree in the field of biological, chemical or medical sciences.<\/li>\n
    2. Knowledge and skills of stem cell in vitro culture and differentiation, genetic modification of cells and molecular biology techniques is required<\/li>\n
    3. International interships\/trainings and documented international cooperation.<\/li>\n
    4. Research track supported by publications in the field of medicinal biology\/ medical sciences.<\/li>\n
    5. Fluent knowledge of English in speech and writing.<\/li>\n
    6. Independence, high motivation for work in science, problem solving.<\/li>\n
    7. Ability to teamwork.<\/li>\n
    8. Taking up work at the Institute of Human Genetics, Polish Academy of Sciences as the primary place of employment.<\/li>\n
    9. The candidate may be invited for an interview and to present results of his scientific achievement.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      8. A list of research projects (including application and implementation projects) that the Candidate was leading or was the main contractor and 1-3 most important publications resulting from the implementation of this project, or other measurable results of the project (if applicable).<\/li>\n

        2. Number of citations of the candidate’s works, especially those in which the candidate is the first author, corresponding or significant author,<\/li>\n
        3. Mobility in scientific career (including academic internships, change of scientific profile, internships and work in industry),<\/li>\n
        4. Creativity measured by the quality and number of research projects,<\/li>\n
        5. Knowledge of medical biology and molecular biology methods<\/li>\n
        6. Opinion of an independent researcher (R3)<\/li>\n
        7. Knowledge of medical biology and molecular biology methods,<\/li>\n
        8. Motivation to work in science<\/li>\n
        9. Good command of English<\/li>\n
        10. Any breaks in the scientific work and indicated achievements of the candidate converted into effective years of scientific work.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          V. Announcement of results<\/strong><\/p>\n

          Up to 30 days from the deadline for submitting documents.<\/p>\n

          Selected candidates will be invited for an interview. Each of the submitted candidates will receive individual information about the results of the competition in relation to their person. Information on the winner of the competition will be provided on the Institute’s website.<\/p>\n

          \u00a0VI. Planned employment: <\/strong>from 1 July 2021<\/p>\n

          \u00a0VII. Information on the possibility of appeal of a candidate who has been negatively evaluated by the competition committee <\/strong><\/p>\n

          Candidates who have been negatively evaluated by the Competition Commission have the right to appeal against the results of the assessment. The appeal is submitted to the Director of the Institute within 7 days from the date of receipt of negative feedback from the selection board.
