The Polish Diabetes Society released a monograph entitled “Half a century of Polish diabetology. Conversations with the Masters”.
Among the interviewed Masters, there is also professor Adam Kraszewski. His memories result from the collaboration with professor Wanda Horst-Sikorska concerning diabetes and with professor Ryszard Słomski on the synthesis of first primers in Poland for the PCR reaction enabling the analysis of the gene encoding human insulin. Professor Kraszewski recalls the difficult beginnings and talk with Professor Słomski: “There is such an interesting technique – polymerase chain reaction – PCR”.
