SCHOLARSHIP HOLDER

in Department of Reproductive Biology and Genomics of Gamete IHG PAS

Number of vacancies: 4

  3. Planned scholarship: scientific NSC scholarship about 1200-3000 PLN per month (for 7-mths postions) or 1200 PLN per month (for 6-mths position)
  4. Employment: 09.2026-31.03.2027 (7 months, 3 positions), 01.10.2026-31.03.2027

The candidate will be involved in the tasks realized within the project Sonata Bis 2020/38/E/NZ2/00134 (National Science Centre, Poland):

Project title:Cytogenetic and molecular analyses of positioning of human sperm chromosomes, including: sperm chromatin integrity, epigenetic marks, karyotyping and sperm fractioning’,
PI – Marta Olszewska, PhD

Main tasks:

active participation in the realization of project goals, including: evaluation of sperm chromosomes and chromatin in infertile males, cytogenetic and epigenetic stainings, working with the microscope, genomic analyses.

  1. Tasks to be done by the candidate:
  1. preparation of biological samples
  2. determination of sperm chromosomes positioning via FISH
  3. immunofluorescence experiments with antibodies
  4. evaluation of genomic WGS/WES data for chromosomal aberration carriers
  5. documentation and analysis of the results.
  • Requirements for candidates:
  1. BSc degree holder or a student of at least 3rd year of MSc track in molecular biology, biotechnology, genetics, medicine or related field
  2. knowledge in the field of molecular and cell biology
  3. very good written and oral communication skills in English
  4. motivation and enthusiasm about working in the field of science
  5. good collaborative and team work skills
  1. scientific achievements and/or practice courses will be an advantage.

Criteria for the evaluation of candidates:

  1. Achieved papers, conferences, students’ activity, awards
  2. Experience in laboratory work
  3. Knowledge in molecular and cellular biology, especially linked to male infertility
  4. High motivation to work
  5. Communication skills in English.

Selected candidates will be invited for interview (18-19th August 2026)
