The work carried out at the Institute aims to elucidate the molecular basis of genetic diseases, cancer, fertility disorders, and autoimmune and infectious diseases. The results we obtain expand our understanding of the genetic determination of susceptibility to cancer and other diseases. Our studies not only have a basic aspect, but are also used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, through, among others, the use of stem cells. Modern technologies of molecular biology, including next-generation sequencing, as well as cytogenetic and immunological techniques, are used in our studies. The Institute also has the right to confer doctoral and habilitation degrees in medical sciences.
