Erasmus + is the European Union’s program in the field of education, training, youth and sport for 2014-2020. Its purpose is, among others, to support international cooperation of universities and scientific institutes through the implementation of some studies and internships abroad, promoting employee mobility and creating opportunities for them to participate in projects in cooperation with foreign partners.

The program enables the implementation of mobility with the following countries:
- Program countries: 27 EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey, Serbia, North Macedonia
- Partner countries: Neighboring countries (divided into 4 regions): Eastern Partnership, Mediterranean, Western Balkans, Russia, other countries – participation depends on the action and the area (sector).

Outgoing PhD students
PhD students can apply for two types of mobility:
- to study (SMS) – lasting from 2 to 12 months carried out in partner institutions (the interinstitutional agreement between HEIs is required)
- for placement (SMP)- lasting from 5 to 30 days carried out in a foreign organization, enterprise, institute, research center etc.
Erasmus grant – programme countries
Erasmus + scholarships are awarded to persons traveling under the program. The scholarship allows you to cover part of the costs associated with traveling and living abroad. The amount depends on the length of stay and is calculated on the basis of specific rates relating to the cost of living in each country.

All employees of the Institute employed on the basis of an employment contract or other civil law contract may apply for a mobility. The Institute may decide on the preferential treatment of full-time employees. Staff may apply for mobility:
- for teaching assignment (STA), (the interinstitutional agreement between HEIs is signed). During the stay (lasting 2 – 60 days) you should conduct a minimum of 8 hours of classes per week.
- for training (lasting 2 – 60 days) to improve the skills and qualifications necessary for work (STT). This offer is addressed to all employees of the Institute, including administration employees.

*’Green Travel’ is understood as travel by bus, coach, train or travel by sharing a car with other people while traveling to your receiving organisation (so-called ‘car-pooling’). It is required to present the following:
- tickets or receits for your travel by bus, coach, train
- written confirmation in case of car-pooling travel
Recruitment of outgoing PhD students and staff
Recruitment for mobility of phD students and staff is conducted continuously until the financial resources are exhausted. The recruitment starts on 1st November 2023.

Participants with disabilities
Participants with a disability may apply for additional funds. Applications for additional funds will be submitted to the National Agency of the Erasmus + Program. In addition, the grant amount awarded will be accounted on the basis of real incurred costs (invoices required).
Incoming students
Incoming students shall be nominated by their home university by e-mail, at this point the Institute of Human Genetics PAS reserves the right to interview the nominee by the electronic tools, e.g. skype. IHG PAS will inform by e-mail if you are chosen to interview.
Required documents
- Online application form with the following attachements: Learning agreement for studies or Learning agreement for traineeships and CV (in case of traineeships)
Deadline for application:
- 30th June (winter term)
- 30th November (summer term)
When those documents reach the IHG PAS, you will receive an official Letter of Acceptance.

Health insurance
Incoming students applying for a mobility at the Institute of Human Genetics PAS are expected to present insurance coverage such as health insurance, accident insurance and civil liability insurance. The students are asked to present the insurance upon their arrival to the institute.

Incoming staff
Incoming staff willing to visit the Institute of Human Genetics PAS is requested to contact the host department of IHG PAS or Erasmus+ Coordinator (erasmus@igcz.poznan.pl) in order to agree programe of the visit and then complete the Online application form with attachement: Staff Mobility Agreement for teaching/Staff Mobility Agreement for training.
The incoming staff is requested to have health insurance, accident insurance and civil liability insurance for the period of travel and stay in Poznan.
