Katarzyna Jaśkiewicz-Rajewicz, PhD, has been awarded an EMBO Scientific Exchange Grant for the project “Human Conjunctival Organoids: A Novel System to Study Ocular Surface Repair” to be carried out in the laboratory of Vanessa LaPointe in Maastricht (Netherlands), granted by the European Molecular Biology Organization. The three-month research stay, which began in March, will focus on developing a human conjunctival organoid model to investigate ocular surface injury and regeneration, as well as the modulatory effects of immunoregulatory factors on epithelial repair processes.
