Marzena Skrzypczak-Zielinska is graduate of biotechnology at the University of Life Sciences in Poznan. After graduating, she was seven months internship within Leonardo da Vinci Programm in the Institute of Human Genetics at the University of Leipzig. Subsequently, she started in Germany at the University of Leipzig the PhD study and after four years she received the Doctor title. Research in this period concern the development of new methods for the detection of dynamic mutations in the neurodegenerative diseases. In January 2009, she started scientific work at the Institute of Human Genetics Polish Academy of Sciences in the Department of Nucleic Acids Function under supervision of Prof. Ryszard Słomski. After a year of work, she was promoted to the position of assistant professor, and in 2019 she obtained a post-doctoral degree in medical sciences and health sciences in the discipline of medical sciences based on a series of publications entitled: “Molecular aspects of pharmacogenetic tests in non-specific inflammatory diseases and sensitivity to anesthetics “, and since 2023 he has been a professor at the Institute. Her research interest relate mainly to the molecular aspects determining the occurrence, course and treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases and studies in the field of pharmacogenetics. It also focuses on the practical use of the obtained results in diagnostics. In 2017, she completed five years of specialization training in Laboratory Medical Genetics. Membership in organizations: member of the Polish Society of Human Genetics, of the College of Laboratory Medicine in Poland and of the National Association of Laboratory Diagnosticians.
