Maciej Śmialek:
- has studied Medical Biotechnology at Poznan University of Life Sciences. After getting his engineer degree he was doing his master’s studies at Pozna n University of Life Sciences, however most of his research that time was prepared at Greater Poland Cancer Centre and Pozna n Medical University.
- Currently he is last year PhD student at Institute of Human Genetics, Polish Academy of Sciences.
- During his master’s and PhD’s thesis preparation he attended few Polish and abroad computational biology/bioinformatics courses and specialized in RNA Seq , CLIP Seq , RIP Seq and RNA binding protein motifs enrichment.
- During his 6 months visit at Wellcome Trust/CRUK Gurdon Institute, University of Cambridge, UK he got familiar with several experimental and computational approaches for studying RNA protein interactions, transcriptional and post transcriptional
mechanisms and learned how to analyse ChIP Seq and transcription factor motif enrichment.
RESEARCH FOCUS
Molecular mechanisms of 3’UTR mediated posttranscriptional gene regulation including RNA binding proteins in the context of germ cells and testis germ cell tumours (TGCTs).
