Maciej Śmiałek, PhD is the laureate of the Professor W. Bielański award from Society of Reproductive Biology, for two related original articles published in 2020, of which he is the first and corresponding author (doi: 10.1242 / jcs.240986. And doi: 10.3390 / cells9040984.).
They concern research on the importance of PUM1 and PUM2 proteins involved in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in human gametogenic cells, performed in the TCam-2 cell model. The award is granted for experimental work or a series of closely related experimental works in the field of reproductive biology, carried out in research laboratories in Poland (a leading contribution of the Polish research center) by young scientists.
